A famous pure gold temple in northern Kyoto city.

The three-story temple which ASHIKAGA Yoshimitsu (The 3rd generation Shogun of Ashikaga Shogunate) set up in 1397.

This beautiful temple is burned down because of Young Mizokuchi's setting fire in 1950. The present building was reconstructed in 1955.
